Optimise hospital emergency services -A Solution for resource scarcity
Emergency departments at central hospitals are in chaos all around Finland and the world, and ways to optimise hospital emergency services are needed. The optimisation and predicting of well-functioning hospital emergency services have become central in addressing the resource scarcity in the public sector.
In a functional central hospital emergency services unit patients receive their required care quickly, while the balance of the workload and resources is taken into account.
WEIVI’s knowledge based management software predicts congestion in emergency services and optimises operations by utilising data in a fundamentally new way. Dynamic optimisation with WeiviEngine in the digital twin environment allows for forecasting and optimisation of patient flows and resources to avoid congestion. Our digital twin technology combined with WeiviEngine improves both workflow and personnel well-being.
WEIVI emergency services optimisation pilot program has also received EURA21 project funding. The pilot program is conducted in cooperation with the North Karelia well-being services county.
The Data integration needs of join situation centers
To enhance resource management and optimisation efficiency, we recommend well-being service counties and other public service organisations expanding the use of the WEIVI digital twin environment to encompass the entire hospital or implementing combined resource allocation within the joint situation center. This approach enables timely and decisive responses, especially during crisis events, and simplifies resource balancing by facilitating the transfer of staff or patients.
WEIVI’s software architecture is designed to seamlessly integrate various data management systems, and a more extensive digital twin environment extends the timeframe for anticipatory actions, such as resource gathering within the early warning system.
